Mojo won't be in Colorado, he'll be in San Diego in an area called Coronado.

He's the afternoon drive time DJ on 101.5 KGB FM in San Diego, so you can
get a message to him via the radio station.

Well, Bill, it IS sad to see Mojo retiring. But what the fuck: he can't go
on like this forever! Last year my buddy Tom and I drove down to see Mojo
in
Austin and then San Antone. Mojo recognized us as "two escaped Kansas
mental
patients who came all the way to Texas for a Mojo fix." Hell, Tom has a son
named Mojo - what else could we do??
[We applied for leave, but the authorities wouldn't stamp our passes, so we
just took off].

I'll once again make the trip down I-35 to Austin to see Mojo's swansong.
Not
sure what Tom will do. Tom's prone to nostalgia, so you never know. I'm
worried about telling him that this will be IT for Mojo - Tom might go over
the
deep end!!!

Our fervent hope: that Mojo will be resurrected in a year or two after he
has a chance to chill in Colorado awhile. Or else: MOJO FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!

Ray (who has been fortunate enough to see the Man play six times).

         There's the rub.

Clear Channel Communications, the Radio Conglomerate with enough
money to put The Lawd God Jesus Haploid Koresh Himself on retainer, has yet
to get a Shoutcast or Streaming Media link for KGB, so we can get our Mojo
from here in the hinterlands. So, I propose the following; I'm going to
research the possibility of a Guerrilla Shoutcast Server, A linux box with
an FM card, and a wi-fi link, to be left running inside of KGB's broadcast
area.

And since I'm a completely worthless prick, I intend to make it a
Knoppix boot CD roll-up, so that anyone can download the Guerrilla Disk,
boot it, and be streaming media seconds later, without any interference
from the FCC.

         Who's with me?

Larry (Avast ye, corporate dogs! Prepare to be boarded!).

Paula,

I have not seen Mojo (and Skid) perform as many times as you have, but =
I'm
pretty sure I've seen him play ~ 25 times total - mostly when he came up
toward L.A. and Orange County. I believe I've seen The Beat Farmers play =
~
40 times. Those days (circa early/mid-80s) were a long time ago, but I =
will
never forget them.

I for one, would love to see some of your photos. If you do post them
somewhere, please let me/us know where.

Occasionally, I am able to tune into KGB from where I live in Orange =
County.
When I do, it's great to hear Mojo's voice. It's also kind of sad though
because of what they make him play. Once when The Eagles were in concert =
in
San Diego, poor Mojo was forced to play a goddamn super-set of the
Eee-gulls. It was just darn painful to have to listen to Mojo pretend he =
was
interested in the Ee-gulls.=20

It would be great if Mojo got his own show on KGB. Even if it were just =
for
2hrs/week, but he could play what ever he wanted.

Eric

Sad to hear MOJO's retiring...
But here's a quote from the press release That gives me some hope...

>>Following in the tradition set forth by entertainers such as Frank
>>Sinatra, The Who, Kiss, David Bowie, Judy Garland, Michael Jordan and
>>George Foreman,

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/boxing/2004-02-10-foreman-return_x.htm
Old george is 55 and is training for a fight as we speak.
MJ quit and then played for the Wizards.
The Who, Kiss, Bowie and have done farewell tours and are still touring
today.
Damn half the WHO are dead and they are in the studio putting together a
new product.

You can't put a spirit like MOJO down.

RE: beadwork.guide at about.com
If you need a place to host all those rare photos, I would be glad to
volunteer a section on my mojo shrine.
http://www.artrocity.com/rockshots/mojo1.htm
Hosting a bunch of mojo photos and live mp3s there now ...
